Active Military

Active military members are immediately eligible for full health care benefits for themselves and their immediate family members as soon as they enter the service. If you stay through until retirement, you and your family can take these benefits with you when you leave the military. After serving just 20 years in the military, you are eligible for a full pension.

The military also offers opportunities for training and military members are able to attend college courses that are often paid for by tuition assistance. A great way to advance your career earn degrees and prepare yourself for civilian life. Student loans can be relieved by up to $65,000.

While active in military service, there are many advantages in buying a home. Finding the right lender is especially important, since VA loans have specific eligibility requirements, different fees and closing costs than other loans.

Veterans

Military retirement benefits can be worth millions of dollars. For example, an officer with 20 years of service, who earns over $100,000 per year, could potentially retire, in their forties with a lifetime pension of over $48,000 per year, receiving a full retirement package at age 42. The possibility of a second career is a huge plus.

For the past 20 years, the Post-9/11 GI Bill also pays veterans who served at least 36 months, a monthly stipend and full tuition to pay for college after they leave the military. Depending on the military service member’s employment commitment,  the Post-9/11 GI Bill can be transferred to spouses and children.

To help vets realize an American dream of home ownership, the Veterans Affairs Office, offers veterans a way to purchase a home with no money down through the VA Loan. This makes it easier to purchase a home while they are serving, or after completing their service. A VA home loan (Department of Veterans Affairs Home Loan) is one of the most useful military benefits. It enables you to buy or build a home. In addition, you can also refinance to renovate an existing home. All with great low rates.
